Minnesota so far this season has made a habit of blowing early leads, but that changed this Sunday. Adrian Peterson ate up the Cardinals defense and was able to score three first quarter touchdowns. Peterson went on to rush for 122 yards on 29 carries, along with his 3 touchdowns.
McNabb was able to find the end zone in the first quarter when he ran one in. Once the Vikings built a 28-0 lead it looked like this was the week they were going to get it done. The Vikings defense looked really good in that first quarter as well, forcing a couple of turnovers and setting up some touchdowns for the offense.
The rest of the game was filled with punts and solid defense, which the Vikings were more than willing to accept, allowing them to get their first win of the season.
Minnesota has started the season 1-4, but in all reality their team has a lot more talent on it than their record indicates. It would not be too surprising if the Vikings are able to upset a few teams as the season goes on.
